Sister Bay, WI
ABOUT THE AREA
The Refuge Log Home is nestled in a beautiful, wooded five acres across the street from Lake Michigan and is 4 miles directly east of Sister Bay in Northern Door County, WI. Lake Michigan (east side) and Green Bay (west side) flank Door County on three sides and its southern-most base connects to Wisconsin’s mainland. It also contains Washington Island and Rock Island, both of which are a few miles off the peninsula’s northern shore. Door County is comprised of 2,000+ square miles and more than 19 distinct communities.
The Refuge is located on a peaceful dead-end street with light car and foot traffic. It is less than ten minutes to downtown Sister Bay, a wonderful town with fun shops and great restaurants to explore and enjoy. Sand Bay Beach is just five minutes away and the villages of Baileys Harbor, Ephriam and Fish Creek are close too.
Door County has a wide variety of things to do and places to see. Explore Door County’s state and county parks and foot or by bike; head to the water for swimming, fishing or boating; or relax at a local winery or brewery. Check out Destination Door County for a complete list.
For groceries and general items our favorite store is the Piggly Wiggly (“The Pig”) in Sister Bay There are also markets in Fish Creek(The Fish Creek Market), Egg Harbor (Main Street Market) and Baileys Harbor (Waseda Farm).
Food, snack, and beverage choices are abundant throughout the villages, so much so that we don’t have room to list them all here.
